Chinese 5 Spices

Stirring some meats or veggie in your wok? Well, add a little of Chinese accent with these simple ingredients will make your dish authentic: hoisin sauce, sesame oil and five spice powder.  To get that over the top is to make your own Five Spice Powder with FinaMill.  This magic powder is a blend of cinnamon, cloves, fennel, star anise, and Szechwan peppercorns.  Cinnamon is a little too hard for FinaMill, but the rest are okay.  After cooking with your own Five Spice, you will never go back to the bottle stuff. 


  • 2 teaspoons Sichuan peppercorns
  • 5 to 6 crushed star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried minced cloves
  • 1 tablespoon ground Chinese cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground fennel seeds


Mix all ingredients into a bowl and mix will.  Load into your FinaPod and enjoy with your FinaMill.
